Bugs addressed in Camera Raw 7.1 include Windows keyboard shortcut fixes, increased stability in metadata editing, and point curve adjustments. A defringe control has been added to the Lens Correction panel. The DNG Converter 7.1 application duplicates this functionality for versions of Photoshop prior to CS6.

KASPERSKY Internet Security 2013

Kaspersky Internet Security or KIS is an Internet security suite developed by Kaspersky Lab compatible with Microsoft Windows. KIS supports the detection and removal of malware, as well as e-mail spam, phishing attempts, and data leaks. The designers have worked to streamline program usage, cutting down on alerts and popups and eliminating unnecessary options, and the installation process requires fewer steps, but there are no sweeping changes. You will notice the new Safe Money feature, an evolution of the previous edition's SafeRun for websites. But your only hint that the antispam and antiphishing engines are new will be enhanced accuracy. The brand-new automatic exploit protection and process-execution control likewise stay below the radar. These features definitely showed their merit in my hands-on testing.

PROS: Kaspersky Security Network analyzes unknown files, identifies known files. Very good anti-malware scores in tests by PCMag and independent labs. Intelligent firewall doesn't hassle users. Accurate antiphishing. Spam filter blocked no valid mail. Parental control better than most suites. Safe Money feature protects online transactions.

CONS: Malware cleanup can take a long time. Safe Money can't block clipboard capture, can't always block screen capture. Minor drag on system performance.

BOTOM LINE: Kaspersky Internet Security is a competent security suite that delivers everything you need for protection. Its phishing and spam protection are improved since last year, and the new Safe Money feature protects your online financial transactions. It's a very good choice.
